Welcome! and thank you for visiting the SBHRA website.

2018 is a year to look forward and build on what we have, also to reach ahead to find new and more resources to afford ourselves with new efficiencies and creative ways to enhance our partnerships within our organizations.  It is also a time to reflect on what continues to sustain us professionally.  SBHRA and SHRM continue to support our members and partners with solutions to our HR challenges. HR is looked upon for solutions and in 2018 SBHRA wants to be there for you to help bring those solutions back to your organizations.

SBHRA has an amazing Board of Directors committed to your association volunteering to bring you outstanding programs, legislative updates and offering advocacy on important labor issues, building relationships with our college partners, assuring our programs meet the standards for certification, partnering with SHRM and CalSHRM, ensuring we are working with our Veteran’s and our local schools to promote career readiness and much, much more!

We continue to support the greater community with our HR Minute each Wednesday on KZSB at 11:20am where we talk about important information and issues in Human Resources.

Our HR Dept. of 1 continues to support many of our solo HR practitioners.  The HR Dept. of 1 will be starting its second term of seminars later this year – watch for upcoming announcements! I hope you will plan to register for this seminar of classes – it has offered great reward to those that have attended.

Our Emerging Professionals are our future HR Leaders.  We encourage them to grow in their careers. We offered a mix of professional development and networking last year and will have more in store this year. Please join them at one of the upcoming events.

If you have not considered HR certification yet, perhaps you might want to make this a resolution this year.  There are many options for certification be it SHRM, HRCI and our very own UCSB has classes in their Technology Management curriculum.  SBHRA offers solutions to assist in your success – visit our resource page on our website and look for our monthly announcements.

We have many upcoming events this year to support your professional development, ability to network, meet new friends and make new partnerships to help you find solutions to the challenges you face daily.
We invite you to our programs and events, we invite you to volunteer on a committee and we invite you to join SBHRA if you are new to HR or just learning about us.

SBHRA is here to partner with you to help find your HR solutions!
