Join us in our Advocacy Efforts

On a daily basis, HR professionals have the delicate task of balancing employee advocacy with employer business. Sometimes legislators enact employment laws that are difficult to administrate or appreciate within the workplace from either the employee or employer perspective.

HR professionals are uniquely positioned to provide lawmakers insight on employment law legislation and how it affects the work environment. Through advocacy, we are able to advise elected officials on how public policy issues affect employees, employers, and the HR profession as a whole.

CalSHRM's California State Legislative & HR Conference

Held annually in Sacramento, CalSHRM's California State HR Advocacy & Legislative Conference offers an excellent opportunity to let your voice and words of wisdom be heard. The conference provides extensive education presentations that examine California legislation and laws affecting the workplace.

It also brings together HR professionals from across the state who have the opportunity to volunteer their time and lobbying efforts as part of the conference’s advocacy Hill Day. In-person meetings are conducted at the state Capitol with respective state lawmakers or staff to discuss issues that matter to the profession.

SBHRA supports the CalSHRM conference and has members who attend each year. Join us in our advocacy efforts and let your voice be heard.
