Join us on Thursday, July 20th at the Old Mission Santa Barbara for our Summer Mixer!  Santa Barbara is known for its beaches, mountains, wines, and the precious icon known as the Old Mission Santa Barbara.  SBHRA is pleased to invite you to a special Old Mission Santa Barbara behind-the-scenes Mixer in the height of summer.

  • Did you know there is a Huerta (Orchard) that replicates the orchards and gardens of the 1800’s?  You’ll be invited to step back in time in this beautifully restored place.
  • Did you know that Juana Maria, the Lone Woman of San Nicholas Island has her resting place in this beautiful cemetery?  You’ll be able to pay your respects to this special woman featured in the “Island of the Blue Dolphins” as well as some of the founding De la Guerra and Covarrubias families of our treasured city.
  • A short visit in the Parish church on your way back to the Mixer, and you’ll pass by the Sacred Garden revered by the Franciscan Friars and the many visitors to the Mission over the years.

Bring friends, network, relax, and enjoy delicious food and drink, a Silent Auction, and two mini tours of what’s behind the walls at the Old Mission on a lovely summer evening in Santa Barbara.

Mini Tour Schedule & Docent
  • 6:00 – 6:15 Mini Huerta Tour (Lisa Burns)
  • 6:15 – 6:30 Mini Church/Cemetery Tour (Bill McNamara)
  • 6:30 – 6:45 Mini Huerta Tour (Lisa Burns)
  • 6:45 – 7:00 Mini Church/Cemetery Tour (Bill McNamara)

To assure your safety, anyone taking the Huerta mini tour must wear flat shoes. The ground in the Huerta is very uneven and bumpy in places -- definitely not a good place for anyone in heels.
Please be prepared and bring or wear flat shoes.
